SMS Scam Alert - 866-838-0359
Received this SMS message on my phone:
“Notice - This is an automated message from Frankenmuth Credit Union, your ATM card has been suspended. To reactivate call urgent at 866-838-0359.”
Checked the credit union’s website and found this scam alert:
“WARNING….SCAM: We have been informed that Text Messages are being sent to people stating that The Message Is From Frankenmuth Credit Union and Concerning A Debit Card. The text message asks the reciever to call an 866 Phone #. Once this number is called, they ask the caller to enter their Card Number, PIN and Expiration Date information. THIS IS A SCAM….PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS! FCU did not and does not generate text messages of this nature.”
